Church History
1 Timothy 1:11-14
According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my
trust. And thank Christ Jesus our Lord. Who hath enabled me, for that he counted
me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a blasphemer, and a
persecutor, and injurious; but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in
unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love
which is Christ Jesus.
New Testament Holiness church Jacksonville was established in 1989 in a store front on North 1st St.
in Jacksonville, AR with only 8 members, Apostle Stevenson, First Lady Gloria Stevenson, and their 6
kids. The entire family conducted the service, Pastor Stevenson would play the organ while Sis.
Stevenson and the kids would conduct praise and worship service. Over time, God brought more and
more people in, many souls were saved, healed, and delivered. The church began to grow more and
more. God spoke a prophetic word through Prophet Ernie D. Childress of Batesville AR. that revealed
our next location. After one year on N. 1st Street, God blessed us with a bigger building, 424 Church
Street, Jacksonville , AR. We have outgrown this building, and just moved to a bigger tabernacle at
2411 Green Acres in Jacksonville.
In 1993, the Lord spoke to Apostle Stevenson to go to Elaine, AR. and hold a 6 day revival. God
moved greatly! People were healed, delivered, and many souls were saved. The enemy tried to stop
the revival, but was overpowered by God. After the 6th night of the revival, the Lord spoke to Apostle
Stevenson to start a church there in Elaine.
We at New Testament Holiness Church are believing God to make disciples in even more cities
around the world. We are very excited about the wondrous works God has done and will continue to
do.
God has performed many signs of wonders in our church. Leonard Mask was delivered from drugs
and alcohol one night at a prayer meeting. Through faithfulness in the ministry, he is now ordained as
the Assistant Pastor of New Testament Holiness-Jacksonville.
God has also called Apostle Stevenson's son Marcus C. Stevenson Jr. into the ministry. Minister
Mark works faithfully as Associate Pastor and Minister of Music.
